About Luxor:

The city of Luxor is one the top-rated tourist cities in Egypt, housing about 1/3 of the world’s monuments representing in impressive collection of temple complexes, royal tombs, massive stelae and huge statues.

During the Pharaonic times, Luxor was called as Thebes, and the city played such a very vital role as the capital of the Egyptian empire, especially during the new kingdom by the well-known kings Ramses II and the powerful queen Hatshepsut and many other kings, who ruled the country during that time.

The city of Luxor is rich with the Pharaohs’ treasures! BUT the city is divided into two sections, the East Bank, where the ancient Egyptians decided to built their temples to do prayers and celebrate festivals, and the city of the dead or the West Bank, where they decided to erect their funerary temples and tombs. It is worth mentioning that both sides are facing each other and you can reach the west bank by taking the ferry boat, which is very exciting!

The East Bank of Luxor is famous for its impressive Karnak Temples Complex, the charming Temple of Luxor, the Mummification Museum and the awesome Luxor Museum, in addition to its fabulous local shopping center, where our dear guests, who are enjoying their tour in Luxor, will have the chance to buy high quality products at very good prices that match all tourist budgets and styles.

However, if we would like to talk about the city of the dead, the West Bank of Luxor, we should not miss the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens, the funerary Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari, the marvelous Colossi of Memnon, the Ramsseum, the attractive Temple of Madinat Habu and more other fantastic monuments that date back the Pharaonic times. The West Bank is really rich with its funerary temples and royal treasures!

That’s why, many tours can be arranged from Cairo to Luxor by flight or sleeping trains and from Aswan or Hurghada by bus. It is worth mentioning that there is a direct line between Cairo and Luxor and the one-way flight takes approximately one hour to reach Luxor from Luxor or vice versa. Luxor is also linked to the Western desert, as the long Oases tour, starting from El Fayoum, passing by El Bahariya Oasis, Black and While Desert, Farafra Oasis, El Dakhla and El Khagra Oasis should be ended in Luxor. This tour was one of the highly recommended Safari tours to all our guests, who love doing Safari tours, before 2013.
