As per our experience and based on our guests’ reviews, the best time to visit Egypt is from October till April, as the weather during these months is more than perfect to explore the highlights of Cairo, cruising the Nile between Luxor and Aswan and spending few days on the beaches of the Red Sea cities such as Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh and Marsa Alam. Taking into consideration that December and January are the peak tourist months together with the Easter period too. So, if you are planning to visit Egypt during these months, we advise you to book your tour enough time in advance to guarantee the space.

However, the Summer season (from May to September) is the low season in Egypt, as the weather is little bit hot, especially in the south of the country, from Luxor till the temples of Abu Simbel near the Egyptian borders with Sudan.

In order to enjoy your excursions to Cairo and see the Great Pyramids of Giza, you’ll want to spend a minimum of four or five days in the area. In a week, you can see the pyramids, explore Cairo, and make a side trip to Luxor and/or Alexandria. Spend longer than a week and you can see all of the above plus make an excursion to the southern border and see the impressive Abu Simbel temples. If you solely plan to visit Giza’s pyramids, you could technically do so in two or three quick days—this is a whirlwind experience, and we highly recommend spending more time.

Most tourists and visitors come to Egypt can obtain an entry visa at any of the major airports or ports of entry. All foreigners arriving in Egypt should have a valid passport (with at least 6 months left, before expiry) to get an entry visa. Egypt is a Muslim country; it is advisable to dress conservatively when visiting churches and mosques. For men do not wear shorts and as for woman do not wear anything short or sleeveless unless on the beach or by the pool. This will save you unwanted attention. If you are traveling in the summer loose, light cotton clothing is absolutely essential. Don’t forget to bring with you your sunglasses, comfortable walking shoes, and a hat.
